Identification phase

It was a warm April afternoon. The sun was shining pleasantly down on us. Seated around a mahogany table, we (a group of chocolate lovers & a professional chocolatier) were having a casual discussion on the reasons behind the extensive popularity of milk chocolates (milk compounds) and relative obscurity of dark chocolates in India. As the discussion went on, we got to know that the milk compounds had been extensively popularised by the MNC’s with the help of widespread media advertisement campaigns. Most MNC’s preferred to focus on this milk chocolates category because it was a more profitable alternative to dark chocolates. Further, people simply did not know the real difference between authentic dark chocolate and milk chocolates and the MNC’s took ample advantage of it. In order to satisfy our after-meal cravings, most of us resort to chocolates to give our meals that extra allure. Chocolates also act as our companions at times when we are feeling low. A simple bite into a bar of this dark blessing makes us forget our worries. Such is the power of that elusive little red bean! If we look at the statistics, we can see there has been an assiduous increase in the per capita consumption of chocolates in the average Indian household. There has also been an increase in the number of health-conscious individuals who dutifully monitor what goes into their body. Thus, we strongly believe that there are millions like us who are constantly searching for better & healthier alternatives to milk chocolates. Chocolates that are made using superior ingredients. These individuals are thus willing to pay a higher price, if it is their health and well-being that is of concern. To address the demands of these consumers, we took a decision that would change our lives as well as the lives of those consumers, forever. We took the decision to start AMBRIONA CACAO BLENDS PVT LTD. We had a very distinct and clear aim that comprised the desire to manufacture & promote dark chocolates which were, invariably and unquestionably, far healthier & tastier alternatives to conventional milk compounds & milk chocolates. Thus, at the advent of this initial stepping stone, we laid out a very clear and comprehensible set of principles that revolved around a ratio. Not just any ratio. Really, The Ratio. And we call it the “Right Ratio”. The “Right Ratio” governs the composition of all our products. Execution phase:

The Journey comprising the period from the conception of the idea up until the achievement of the finished product took a duration of about 2 years (April 2015- April 2017). The cocoa was sampled from 20 different plantations situated around the globe. The cocoa from each region had its own distinct character & flavour profile. During this same duration of two years, our team conducted meticulous surveys consisting of a wide array of consumers, and on the basis of these invaluable surveys, we were able to identify the flavour preferences the Indian palate adheres to. After we had identified the preferred flavour profiles of the Indian consumer, we were able to decide upon the preferred regions for the sourcing of our cocoa. With the inception of this, our international sourcing collaborations were instated. Subsequently, manufacturing & packaging equipment was sourced, land was leased, factory set up, finance arranged and finally, the company was incorporated, thus culminating into the achievement of a dream and path we had set upon since the April of the year 2015. Since April 2017, we have been incessantly strengthening our online as well as offline distribution & retail networks across Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Chennai & Goa. We have faced a myriad of challenges, and beyond all naysaying, we have conquered every stone in our path. Hence, our customers can rest assured, we shall undoubtedly continue to do the same in the times to come.
